Charlie Nesbitt and Josh Owens racked up more championship points with a series of solid performances for Hawk Racing in the latest round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

The young pairing performed steadily all weekend at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit and were rewarded with five points-scoring finishes between them.

Nesbitt got off to a strong start in Saturday’s BikeSocial sprint race to come home ninth on board the MasterMac Honda by Hawk Racing. He then followed it up with 12th and 11th in Sunday’s two races, moving on to 50 points so far this campaign and 13th in the championship standings.

Meanwhile Owens, on the Crendon Honda by Hawk Racing, progressed well over the course of the weekend to boost his own tally for the season. After finishing 22nd in the sprint race he went on to collect points with 15th and 14th in the second and third races respectively.

Josh said:

“It was a positive weekend from my perspective. It’s still a learning process with the bike so it’s great that we’ve got a lot of laps in, finished every race and got more points in the bag. We’re in a good place for the next round at Brands Hatch.”

Charlie added:

“It was a big confidence-builder after the meeting at Knockhill, when things didn’t go to plan at all. I’m really happy to have picked up points in every race and will aim to do more of the same next time out.”

Steve Hicken, team manager, said:

“We needed a bit of a reset after Knockhill, where we had several crashes. Charlie and Josh have done just that with some nice, steady rides and it’s a good foundation for us to build on in the next round.”

Snetterton was the first meeting of a hectic period for Hawk, with the team heading straight from Norfolk to the Isle of Man. Our roads campaign resumes there at the Southern 100, where we’re again competing for honours with Michael Dunlop on board the Hawk Racing Honda from 10-14 July.

After a short spell back at base, we then head south for the next round of Bennetts BSB at Brands Hatch in Kent from 21-23 July.
