Hawk Racing and rider Charlie Nesbitt were back in the points over the weekend as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship returned to Oulton Park.

Nesbitt turned in a series of good performances at the Cheshire circuit to collect points in all three races on the MasterMac Honda by Hawk Racing, including 12th place in each of Sunday’s two longer races.

Perhaps the highlight though was his 10th place finish in Saturday’s BikeSocial sprint race - an excellent result having started from 19th on the grid.

His latest points haul moves Nesbitt into the top ten in the overall standings for the first time this season, the youngest rider and only rookie among them.

His teammate for the weekend was Hawk’s road racing star Michael Dunlop. Standing in for the injured Josh Owens on board the Crendon Honda by Hawk Racing, he picked up 19th place in the opening race but unfortunately failed to finish the other two.

Reflecting on the weekend’s racing, Nesbitt said:

“It was a good few days for me and just what I needed after the last round at Cadwell Park.
“I was involved in a lot of close racing with some great riders and the points were hard-earned in each race. It gives me a nice platform to build on in the next round at Donington.”

Team manager Steve Hicken added:

“Oulton Park is a particularly challenging circuit for the less experienced riders but Charlie did well and it should boost his confidence for Donington.
“As always I’d also like to give credit to the whole team for a great effort preparing both bikes, and to all of our sponsors for their continued support.”

The next round at Donington is the penultimate meeting of the season and takes place from September 29th-October 1st.
