MasterMac Honda’s Rhys Irwin continued to steadily build his ZYN British Superbike championship points total at Donington over the weekend.

The Irish rider, who has impressed with increasingly consistent displays in his debut ZYN BSB season, delivered three more solid performances at the East Midlands circuit.

His good form was rewarded with a P14 finish in the opening race, before he went one better with P13 in race two - and then only narrowly missed out on more points in the closing race of a productive weekend.

Teammate Eugene McManus enjoyed some good battles on track but unfortunately failed to make the distance in each race. His luck was summed up by a collision in race two, when he found himself with nowhere to go as another rider’s crashed bike slid into his path.

Steve Hicken, MasterMac Honda’s team manager, said:

“Both riders and the crew worked really hard all weekend.
“Rhys showed once again that points finishes have quickly become the norm for him in his first season, which is a great place to be so early in his ZYN BSB career.
“Eugene was out of luck but he’s a talented and determined rider who’ll bounce back quickly.
“We’re already looking forward to the final round, where we’ll be looking to end the season on a high.”

The ZYN BSB season draws to a close when the final round of 2026 takes place at Brands Hatch in Kent from 16-18 October.
