Charlie Nesbitt produced another series of good rides as MasterMac Honda competed in the Bennetts British Superbike championship at Cadwell Park over the bank holiday weekend.

The young rider once again delivered an impressive qualifying performance to secure fifth on the grid for the opening race.

After the lights went out he looked set to finish even higher up the field, but it wasn’t to be on this occasion as he spectacularly crashed out while running fourth.

He recovered from that blow to take top ten places - 8th and 9th - in Monday’s two races, while his teammate John McPhee ended the weekend with two finishes in the points of his own.

Representing the team in the Pirelli National Superstock series, Dan Brooks delivered one of his best performances of the season to finish 9th.

Steve Hicken, team manager, said:

“Charlie’s qualifying pace was really good again and without the fall he might have been on the podium in race one. Unfortunately the crash left his bike in a sorry state and I’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who helped get him back on track for the last day of the meeting,
“John and Dan both put in some good performances too and it’s great to see all three riders consistently among the points.”

Bennetts BSB next heads to Donington Park from 5-7 September, when a change from the usual format will see an additional fourth race in the superbike class.
