Charlie Nesbitt walked away from a high-speed crash as MasterMac Honda experienced a challenging latest round in the Bennetts British Superbike championship.

The 24-year-old slid off at well over 100mph in the second of three races at Brands Hatch - thankfully avoiding serious injury, but ruling him out of the final race.

Nesbitt was one of several riders to fall in spectacular fashion at the undulating Kent circuit, although he added to his championship points tally with a 12th place finish in the opening race.

His teammate John McPhee narrowly missed out on the points in the first two races before retiring from the third with a technical issue.

Meanwhile Dan Brooks continued his consistent form representing MasterMac Honda in the Pirelli National Superstock series, finishing 12th and 16th in the two races to leave him 13th in the overall standings.

Reflecting on the action, team manager Steve Hicken said:

“First and foremost we’re all glad that Charlie was able to get up and walk away from what was a nasty crash.
“It was a hard weekend for us as a team on a track that didn’t play to the bike’s strengths, but as ever we’re massively grateful to all of the team and sponsors for their hard work and support.
“We’ll take some learning from the last few days and I’m confident we’ll have a better showing next time out.”

The Bennetts BSB season continues at Thruxton in Hampshire from 8-10 August.
